Specialisation in assembly technology

During the 2-year apprenticeship as a metalworking specialist, you will produce functional assemblies and systems for individual or series installation, e.g. for mechanical and automotive engineering.

You work in final assembly and use joining techniques to put together components and assemblies. Assembly plans and other documents help you to plan the individual workflows. The required components are then screwed, pinned or riveted together to create assemblies.

As a metalworking specialist with a focus on technology, you align the individual parts to within a fraction of a millimetre, attach and secure them and pay close attention to their dimensional, shape and positional tolerances.

You then check the finished components and assemblies for dimensional accuracy and good working order. This involves the use of special dial gauges and voltage testers to ensure precise compliance with the specifications and make the product ready for collection.

With a good secondary school leaving certificate, there is nothing to stop you from completing your training at SFB.
